Yet another eye product has been recalled. The latest comes from Pharmedica USA. The company is voluntarily recalling Purely Soothing 15% MSM Drops. You should warn patients possibly using the drops to stop using them immediately. 

The following lot numbers are part of the recall: 

  • LOT#: 2203PS01, 1 oz, UPC 7 31034 91379 9 

  • LOT#: 1808051, ½ oz, UPC 7 31034 91382 9

The bottles will have white lids and eye-drop caps.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) noted that the drops could cause eye infections and blindness. 

This isn’t the first eye treatment product to be recalled this year. In fact, three products have been recalled since the beginning of 2023. Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Eye Ointment and EzriCare Artificial Tears were recalled. 

Delsam was recalled due to possible bacterial contamination. As of this month, EzriCare caused infections across 13 states in 64 patients. It has caused blindness in eight people and the death of one person.[]
