“Bang Bang” singer Jessie J said Tuesday she has breast cancer and is “going to disappear for a bit” to have surgery.
The British pop star, who recently released a new single, “No Secrets,” gave her health update on Instagram.
“I want to share it with my fans and the people that care about me, and also I’m a sharer. I’ve always shared everything that I go through in my life. Before ‘No Secrets’ came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” she said.
“I’m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word early,” she continued. “I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period.”
Jessie J, 37, said she was not processing her diagnosis because she’s working so hard, but sharing information in the past has helped her feel support.
The former Grammy nominee took a lighthearted turn in looking ahead to surgery after a Wembley Stadium concert event June 15.
“It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job,” she said. “I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music.”
Jessie J, who has a 2-year-old son with ex-pro basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, also joked in the caption.
“It is too soon to do a remix called ‘Living my breast life’?” she wrote.
