Clinico-radiological features and outcomes in pregnant women with COVID-19 pneumonia compared with age-matched non-pregnant women

Researchers compared pregnant women with COVID-19 pneumonia with age-matched non-pregnant women in terms of their clinico-radiological findings and outcomes. They assessed 21 pregnant and 19 age-matched non-pregnant women with COVID-19 pneumonia. Typical clinical features of COVID-19 pneumonia were more frequently absent in pregnant women. However, there was development of a relatively more severe disease at imaging with a slower recovery course and similar outcomes among pregnant women with COVID-19 pneumonia vs non-pregnant women.
