Large-scale Real-time Reverse Transcription-PCR Approach of Angiogenic Pathways in Human Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the Bladder: Identification of VEGFA as a Major Independent Prognostic Marker
European Urology, 09/18/09
Pignot G et al. – Angiogenesis seems to play a key role in bladder carcinogenesis. VEGFA is overexpressed in non–muscle–invasive and in muscle–invasive bladder cancer and is an independent prognostic factor of poorer outcome, suggesting a potential role for antiangiogenic therapies in bladder cancer.
