Goh VHH et al. – The present study showed that besides age, sleep duration was associated with androgen concentrations in men and thus the promotion of good sleep hygiene might be an important adjunct management modality for men with low androgen concentrations as well a history of poor sleep. DHEAS may be associated with some sexual functions in men.

With the advent of the internet, e-trading and cross-time zone trading, normal circadian sleep pattern, the sleep of many people has been disrupted. Chronic sleep restriction is a common feature of modern day living. However, we are yet to fully understand the impact of chronic sleep restriction on health. Urgent research into this issue is needed. Therefore, the finding of an association of sleep with androgen levels in men is a significant step forward in understanding the problem of chronic sleep restriction on various health issues in man.
