Marickar YMF et al. – By using the present clinical risk index assessment, it is possible to arrive at a prediction regarding future stone formation in any individual. It is also possible to reduce the risk of stone formation by dietetic and life style changes and appropriate chemotherapeutic drugs.

| The risk status of an individual varies from time to time and the most trusted assessment is proper urine examination using centrifuged early morning and random samples. Many risk factors are modifiable, but others are not. Patient compliance is the most important hall mark for successful prophylaxis. |
