Staehler M et al. - In a study to test whether complete remission (CR)can be achieved with angiogenic therapy in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) including surgical intervention, it appears that long-term confirmed CR was attained in mRCC through anti-angiogenic therapy alone or in combination with surgery. Combining surgery and anti-angiogenic therapy based on sorafenib and sunitinib could render pts free of disease even after repeated cycles of systemic treatment.
