Roosen A et al. – The data from trigone muscle suggest that adrenergic and muscarinic receptor activation increase the intracellular [Ca2+] but the adrenergic pathway also operates through Ca2+–sensitisation of the contractile apparatus, primarily through a PKC–dependent pathway.
