Effects of vardenafil administration on intravaginal ejaculatory latency time in men with lifelong premature ejaculation
International Journal of Impotence Research, 05/29/09
Aversa A et al. - Vardenafil increased IELT and reduced PERT in men with LL-PE. Besides, improvements in confidence, perception of ejaculatory control and overall sexual satisfaction were reported.
A Aversa, 05/29/09
| This is a 16 week double-blind placebo controlled crossover study investigating the effects of vardenafil in men with lifelong premature ejaculation. Even if this is a small study involving 42 men, it has the advantage to be an investigator initiated study. The intriguing results suggest that vardenafil is effective in improving IELT, PERT and sexual well-being and confidence in almost all men studied. Due to the pauciy of side effects, it may represent a valid future therapeutic alternative for those men without genetic causes of PE in which SSRIs are not effective or for those younger men in which they are contraindicated. The results need to be confirmed in larger controlled studies |
