Comparison of mid-term carcinologic control obtained after open, laparoscopic, and robot-assisted radical prostatectomy for localized prostate cancer
World Journal of Urology, 05/11/09
Drouin SJ et al. - Although open radical prostatectomy remains the gold standard procedure, the authors found no differences between these three techniques regarding early oncologic outcomes. These results are still preliminary, however, and further studies of larger populations with a longer follow-up are needed to make any statement regarding surgical strategy.
