Pediatrics: Pediatric dysfunctional voiding treated with tamsulosin
NCP Urology, 04/22/09
Casey J - The authors suggest that the beneficial effect of tamsulosin in their patients was caused by relaxation of smooth muscle at the bladder neck, leading to decreased outflow resistance and improved emptying. They conclude that tamsulosin is a safe and effective treatment for dysfunctional voiding in children, and that prospective controlled trials are warranted.
