Usefulness of electromyography of the cavernous corpora (CC EMG) in the diagnosis of arterial erectile dysfunction
International Journal of Impotence Research: The Journal of Sexual Medicine, 05/04/2012VirsedaChamorro M et al. –
The confirmation of insufficient erection associated with reduction/suppression of electromyography (EMG) activity showed a sensitivity of 66.7% and a specificity of 92.9% in the diagnosis of arterial erectile dysfunction (ED). Owing to the high specificity of corpora cavernosa–EMG response to the injection of prostaglandin E1, this test is considered useful as a screening technique in the diagnosis of arterial ED.
