Wong P et al. - Elective and emergency ENT and maxillofacial surgical patients commonly present with difficult airways which may require the use of advanced airway techniques. Traditional predictive bedside tests of the airway are difficult to apply consistently to different patient populations and hence their results are difficult to interpret with any degree of confidence.
