Huh JW et al. - Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for patients with good responses after preoperative chemoradiation and curative surgery did not significantly improve the survival. However, this should be validated in prospective randomized trials with larger sample sizes.

The role of postoperative chemotherapy for the good responders of rectal cancer after preoperative chemoradiotherapy is controversial. But, even in pathologic completion remission, systemic recurrence has occurred in our study. Therefore, chemotherapy for the good responder such as ypT0-2N0 deserves to do.
