Early Intervention of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Using Vacuum-Assisted Closure in Trauma Patients: Impact on Hospital Length of Stay and Cost
Advances in Skin and Wound Care, 03/18/09
Kaplan M et al. - Acute-care trauma wound patients receiving early NPWT/ROCF demonstrated significant reductions in length of stay, treatment days, and ICU stay, which resulted in significant reduced patient treatment costs. These results indicate that early intervention with NPWT/ROCF has potential clinical and cost-effective benefits for the treatment of traumatic wounds.
