Scientific Advisors Mehmet Oz, M.D., Chairman Mehmet, an associate professor of cardiac surgery at Columbia University, directs the cardiac assist device program and the complementary medicine program at New York Presbyterian Medical Center, a program which he co-founded. Mehmet is a highly regarded and widely recognized physician in the field of cardiology who has authored over 300 original publications, book chapters, and abstracts. He has also been featured on the ABC, NBC, and CBS evening news as well as CNN, McNeil-Lehrer, various PBS documentaries, and over two dozen other television programs. Because of his expertise in technology and the health care industry, Mehmet has been involved in the development of numerous new medical devices and was named a Forum Fellow at the annual Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Avrum Z. Bluming, MD Dr. Bluming is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California and a leading authority on breast cancer. Michael D. Iseman, MD Dr. Iseman is the Girard and Madeline Beno Chair in Mycobacterial Disease at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colorado. He is a world-renowned authority on the epidemiology and treatment of tuberculosis, and serves as a consultant to the World Health Organization. Beth Pond, RN Ms. Pond has been a Staff Nurse within the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston for the past 23 years. Paul B. Rothman, MD Dr. Rothman is the Richard J. Stock Associate Professor of Medicine, Director of the Laboratory of Allergy and Inflammatory Lung Disease, and a world authority on immunology. Clement Sledge, MD Dr. Sledge is the John B. and Buckminster Brown Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Emeritus, at Harvard Medical School, and is a leader of America Orthopedics. He is a pioneer in multiple areas of orthopedic research and clinical practice. H. Dirk Sostman, MD Dr. Sostman is the Chair of the Department of Radiology at New York - Cornell Center. He is also the Associate Medical Director of the Cornell Physicians Organization. Robert Wolfe, DDS Dr. Wolfe is an Associate Professor of Restorative and Prosthodontic Sciences at New York University Dental School and Diplomat to the American Board of Prosthodontics.
