Cutaneous vasculitis induced by TNF inhibitors: a report of three cases

Fujikawa K et al. – We describe 3 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients with anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) therapy-induced cutaneous vasculitis. Two patients required oral corticosteroid, the efficacy of which was observed to be excellent and rapid.
Methods- 3 RA patients with anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) therapy-induced cutaneous vasculitis
- 2 cases induced by infliximab
- 3rd case (cutaneous vasculitis found early at start of therapy) induced by etanercept
- Skin biopsy obtained in 2 patients
- Histology-proven leukocytoclastic vasculitis in 2 patients
- 1 patient spontaneously improved after cessation of TNF inhibitor
- 2 patients required oral corticosteroid, efficacy of which was observed to be excellent and rapid
