Biological switches: the ‘all-or-none’ principle in T-cell activation
Zeitschrift für Rheumatologie, 07/21/09
Kimmig S et al. – The authors present results of the working group indicating for the first time that, at the level of the individual cell, IL–2 is expressed in a binary fashion, i.e. according to an all–or–none principle. The identification and characterization of such intracellular switches may provide new options to manipulate the fate of T cells and develop novel therapeutic strategies.
