Rino Y et al. - The patients showed a decrease of 25(OH) vitamin D3 and 24,25(OH)2 vitamin D3, which are metabolites that show weak activity. This suggests that a homeostatic response maintains the normal level of 1,25(OH)2 vitamin D3, which is important for calcium regulation. Thus, it was suggested that gastrectomy had a moderate influence on the metabolism of vitamin D. However we could not detect any factor associated with the decrease of 25(OH) vitamin D3 and 24,25(OH)2 vitamin D3.
