Kim HS et al. - FDG-PET/CT is a powerful molecular imaging technique that enables the detection of areas with different pathologies such as malignant neoplasm and active inflammation. Dermatomyositis (DM) associated with malignancy in older age emphasizes the need for early recognition of malignancy, the onset of which may precede, coincide with, or follow the diagnosis of DM. This study presents a case of DM, which was confirmed by muscle biopsy; the findings of biopsy were compatible with the inflammatory hypermetabolism revealed by FDG-PET/CT.
