Gambetta M et al. - Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies, manifesting with vascular thrombosis and/or recurrent fetal loss. It is a complex illness that paradoxically causes either too much coagulation or too little, although thrombosis is most commonly seen.
