Ali SA et al. – These results indicate that the commonly used Insall–Salvati and modified Insall–Salvati indexes do not correlate with patellotrochlear articular cartilage congruence. The authors did find an association between the modified Insall–Salvati and patellophyseal indexes and the presence of severe chondral defects
