The role of MRI in peripartum cardiomyopathy

Fett JD – Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging may be useful in the evaluation of peripartum cardiomyopathy, an inflammatory cardiomyopathy associated with pregnancy. Late gadolinium enhancement may be an indicator of ongoing inflammation and serve as a guide for endomyocardial biopsy for those patients not improving as expected with effective heart failure treatment.
