Utamakul C et al. – A 36–year–old woman with papillary thyroid carcinoma underwent total thyroidectomy and received 3 separate 150 mCi doses of I–131 about 6 months apart. A scan 3 days after the first ablative dose and second dose for high serum thyroglobulin of 48.1 ng/ml revealed focal uptake in bilateral pelvic regions, corresponding to the bilateral adnexal masses on SPECT–CT. Bilateral ovarian cystectomy was performed and histopathology revealed bilateral ovarian endometrial cysts.
