Clinical and radiological analysis of fatal courses in severe brain injuries during intensive care treatment
Intensivmedizin und Notfallmedizin, 06/30/09
Woischneck D et al. - In patients who regained consciousness before dying, MRI showed brainstem lesions in 71 %. In this group, the duration of coma was significantly longer in the presence of a brainstem lesion. Loss of cortical answer in somato-sensible and early acoustic-evoked potentials correlates significantly with the evidence of brainstem lesions.
