The primary focus and purpose of this course is to improve interpretation of body imaging studies by radiologists. This will be achieved by providing an updated review of evidence-based practice with particular emphasis on:
• Novel and emerging technologies such as CT colonoscopy, coronary CT, and PET/CT;
• Important and topical patient safety issues such as
nephrogenic systemic fi brosis, radiation risk, imaging of pregnant patients, and safe administration of intravascular contrast media;
• Improved patient care and safety as related to radiology by enhancing physician awareness of body imaging pitfalls that may result in misinterpretation or malpractice litigation. |
