Wu JS et al. - Diagnostic yield is higher in lytic than in sclerotic bone lesions, in larger lesions, and for longer specimens. Obtaining a minimum of three specimens in bone lesions and four specimens in soft-tissue lesions optimizes diagnostic yield.
