Full-field digital breast screening mammography superior to screen film mammography

Based on a meta-analysis published in The Breast, full-field digital mammography was shown to be more accurate than screen field mammography for breast screening in women < 50 years of age. The meta-analysis involved 10 studies and 667, 649 women.

Biopsy of echogenic breast masses

As published in Radiographics, approximately 0.5% of echogenic breast masses are malignant. Biopsies should be considered for echogenic breast masses in patients with a history of cancer or radiation therapy, or masses in ecstatic ducts.
