Ultrasound is playing an increasingly important role in gynecology.  Applications of Gynecological ultrasound include general screening of women who are currently or have previously experienced menopause, and special diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as ovarian cyst aspirations and sonohysterograms (evaluation of the internal surface of the uterus). Gynecologic ultrasound provides visualization of the uterus and ovaries that may add important additional information not demonstrated using other imaging methods or with physical exam findings.  You will leave this course with a thorough understanding of this modality. Model demonstrations and hands-on scanning will present opportunities to have specific questions answered. The addition of Doppler to the study will allow inclusion of several pathological conditions not otherwise visualized.
