Bui KCT et al. – Hematopoietic, mesenchymal and epithelial progenitors were mobilized into the circulation of patients on ECMO. This may reflect a response to severe cardiopulmonary injury, blood–foreign surface interactions with the ECMO circuit and/or hemodilution.
