Prevalence of Asthma among Adult Females and Males in the United States: Results from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), 2001-2004

McHugh MK et al. – As compared to previous NHANES reports, our results indicate that the prevalence of asthma among U.S. adults continues to increase. The findings of marked differences among subgroups of the population suggest asthma–related disparities for impoverished persons and greater prevalence of asthma among obese and extremely obese US adults.
