Colom AJ et al. – The BO–Score is a simple–to–use clinical prediction rule, based on variables that are readily available. A BO–Score of 7 or more predicts a diagnosis of post–infectious BOs with high accuracy.

Since infant pulmonary function testing is not available at most medical centers and because characteristic HRCT scan images are not present in all patients, both over- and under-diagnosis of the disease are common in post-infectious bronchiolitis obliterans. Knowing the predictive power of the individual diagnostic parameters and using them in combination may allow us to perform a more accurate diagnosis.
