Lung Resection for Treatment of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura Associated With a Pulmonary Lymphoma

Elsayed H et al. – The authors report an extremely rare case of a patient with primary pulmonary mucosa–associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma associated with autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura, with rapid restoration of normal platelet count after lung resection.

I hope this case emphasis the unrecorded existing relation between thrombocytopenia and a lung mass. We also highlight the best management of the low platlet count in these patients in order to put your patient safely through a lung resection procedure.
