Eisner MD – Transplantation was successfully performed using a preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative antibody depletion protocol that included plasmapharesis, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), rituximab, and immunoadsorption. At the time of this report, the patient was alive (9 mo after transplantation). Future studies will be necessary to test the safety and efficacy of this procedure.
