Ware LB – The results add to the growing body of evidence that respiratory mechanical abnormalities such as resting and dynamic hyperinflation compromise the rise in cardiac output during physical exertion in patients with severe COPD. This study is one of the first to explore this interaction in a large COPD cohort and sets the stage for further research on the clinical implications of abnormal cardiopulmonary interactions during activity in COPD.
