Venous thromboembolic events in hospitalised medical patients
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 07/14/09

The number of VTE-related events would be halved with universal thromboprophylaxis. Further efforts focused on improving VTE prevention strategies in hospitalised medical patients are warranted.
