The effects of CPAP therapy withdrawal in patients with obstructive sleep apnea: a randomised controlled trial
American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, 08/12/2011
Kohler M et al. – CPAP withdrawal usually leads to a rapid recurrence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a return of subjective sleepiness and is associated with impaired endothelial function, increased urinary catecholamines, blood pressure and heart rate. Thus the proposed study model appears to be suitable to evaluate physiological and therapeutic effects in OSA.
