Rumination and Negative Symptoms in Schizophrenia
The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, 09/18/09
Halari R et al. – The findings showed that negative symptoms, especially emotional withdrawal and stereotyped thinking, but not depressive symptomatology, were associated with rumination in the present sample of patients with schizophrenia. If the findings are replicated, interventions that reduce rumination and rigid thinking might be helpful to reduce some negative symptoms of psychosis.
