| This project is significant for many reasons. First, it is a practical demonstration of the benefits of brief training in meditation. Second, it demonstrates that medical professionals are interested in such self care strategies especially when they are presented to them in way that is palatable to their intellectual and professional training. Third, it demonstrates that non-commercial techniques have a real role to play in this field and that expensive meditation courses are not necessary to experience the benefits of meditation. Fourth, it adds further weight to the argument that "mental silence" orientated techniques, in this case of this study a technique called Sahaja Yoga was used, are associated with specific effects. |
