Profile and variables related to antipsychotic consumption according to dementia subtypes

Despite their disputed benefit–risk ratios, antipsychotics (APs) are extensively used, off–label, to treat behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, and atypical antipsychotics are more commonly prescribed than typical antipsychotics. AP consumption was frequent in dementia with Lewy bodies, and was related to dementia severity indicators.
