Pettit PDM et al. – Implantable sacral nerve stimulation is a minimally invasive, durable, and reversible procedure for patients with urinary urge and fecal incontinence who are refractory to conservative therapy. The therapy is safe compared with other surgical options. An intact external or internal rectal sphincter is not a prerequisite for success in patients with fecal incontinence.
