Visceral abdominal fat accumulation predicts the progression of noncalcified coronary plaque
Atherosclerosis, 06/12/2012
Imai A et al. – Visceral abdominal tissue (VAT) accumulation was positively associated with progression of coronary noncalcified plaque, but not of calcified plaque. This suggests that risk assessment of progression of noncalcified plaque can be improved by combining VAT measurements and coronary artery disease (CAD) risk factors.
