Transfusion-transmitted anaplasmosis from leukoreduced red blood cells

Alhumaidan H et al. – Leukoreduction theoretically reduces the risk of transfusion–transmitted anaplasmosis (TTA) but does not interdict all infections. TTA requires consideration in recipients of red blood cells (RBCs) transfusion with unexplained fever.
