Imran M et al. – The results suggest that these polymorphisms of IL–4 gene may be genetic risk factors for susceptibility towards vitiligo and the up–regulation of IL–4 transcript, protein and IgE levels in individuals with susceptible haplotypes reveal the crucial role of interleukin–4 in the pathogenesis of vitiligo.
