Analysis of bladder vascular resistance before and after prostatic surgery in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms suggestive of benign prostatic obstruction
Neurourology and Urodynamics, 04/13/2012
Wada N et al. – Bladder vascular resistance in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) was elevated in correlation with prostate volume and severity of obstruction. Although bladder vascular resistance decreased significantly after transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) in overall patients, less reduction of vascular resistance was related to persistent urgency after TURP, implying that persistent urgency after TURP might be caused by persistent bladder ischemia.
