Evaluation of the paclitaxel–ifosfamide–cisplatin (TIP) combination in relapsed and/or metastatic cervical cancer
British Journal of Cancer, 09/16/09
Kosmas C et al. – Recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer represents an aggressive malignancy with a high rate of locoregional and distant failure. TIP is an active regimen with acceptable toxicity in advanced/relapsed cervical cancer.
C Kosmas, 09/16/09
| The Paclitaxel-Ifosfamide-Cisplatin (TIP) regimen appears to be active and relatively tolerable, except some slightly excessive (approx. 20%) rate of febrile neutropenic episodes, which are rapidly reversible mostly with home antibiotic therapy (amoxicillin/clavulanate+ciproxin). The regimen has shown to be highly active in patients with relapses outside previously irradiated pelvic sites, in particular lymph nodes and pulmonary metastases. Moreover, about 15% of patients with para-aortic lymph node metastases have experienced >2-year survival. |
