Owczuk R et al. – Reversible blockade of preganglionic sympathetic fibres to the heart, achieved by thoracic epidural anaesthesia, results in a reduction in QTcb, as well as the TDR. These changes may explain the anti–arrhythmic action seen with central blockade.
