Cardiac Hypertrophy during Hypercholesterolemia and its Amelioration with Rosuvastatin and Amlodipine
Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology, 08/28/09
Kang BY et al. – This study provides evidence of cardiac hypertrophy in hypercholesterolemia independent of blood pressure change, LOX–1 and AT1R upregulation as possible signals for oxidant stress leading to alterations in cardiac structure during hypercholesterolemia, and most importantly, amelioration of cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and fibrosis by rosuvastatin and amlodipine.
