Adamopoulos D et al. – Plasma nicotine concentrations comparable to those achieved after exposure to passive smoke enhance arterial wave reflection to the aorta. This is accompanied by an increase in carotid–femoral PWV, denoting a deterioration of arterial compliance by nicotine.
