Randolph TC – ED pharmacists at one institution expanded their clinical role by taking on more direct patient care responsibilities. Pharmacists’ interventions were well received by ED physicians, with an acceptance rate of 98%.

| Since the inception of clinical pharmacy services in our Emergency Department, collaboration and a multidisciplinary approach to patient care has been our utmost priority. Over the course of 2 years, the development of pharmacists' roles within the ED has led to enhanced patient care, reduced workload for ED physicians secondary to pharmacist-managed culture review, and an environment in which collaboration is encouraged.
